FACES
AND
DREAMS
"Faces and Dreams" is a paper puppet show project inspired by George Neveux's play "Juliette ou la clé des songes", aiming to engage the audience by exploring topics related to dreaming. It is the product of a residency at La Nef in collaboration with the Cité Internationale des Arts and premiered at the 23rd edition of the FMTM in Charleville-Mézières in September 2025.
The puppets in the show are made from photos taken from the people in the city where we perform. This way we invite the audience to find familiar faces and places and to enter in a collective dream.
summary
The story starts when Michel enters a city whose people have no memories. Michel tries to recall the good memories he had from his last visit to the city, especially the meeting with a girl with whom he had somehow fallen in love. But as the story develops, he realizes that everything, including finding the girl who expresses her love to him, is superficial and unreal, and he finds himself asking whether he is awake or dreaming.
